Insomnia is a persistent sleep disorder that can make it hard to fall asleep, hard to stay asleep or both, despite the opportunity for adequate sleep.


With insomnia, you usually wake up still feeling tired and listless, which takes a toll on your ability to function during the day. 

Insomnia can have a negative impact not only your energy level and mood but also your health, work performance and quality of life. Feeling tired all the time is not good for us.

Medical treatment for chronic insomnia includes first treating any health problems that may be causing the insomnia. If insomnia continues, your GP or nurse may suggest Cognitive Hypnotherapy as a solution.

Your Hypnotherapist will first assess, and help you deal with, any underlying anxieties followed by teaching self-hypnosis and relaxation methods that work.
